What I Do.
At framed by the forest, I specialize in designing and crafting Unique hardwood mirrors, Extraordinary picture frames, Interesting home-wares, attractive shelving solutions and all sorts of other bespoke furniture.
I pride myself on my attention to detail and I insist on giving the right amount of care and attention to every process. Every piece that I create reflects my dedication and commitment to creating wondrous Items for people to get excited about.
While function is important, its the Beauty of something that really grabs and holds our attention.
My Commitment
Driven by a passion for nature, I am committed to working in as Eco-friendly and environmentally conscious way possible. I only buy timber that is FSC Certified, mostly timber that has been grown in well managed woodlands in the Uk and closely neighboring European countries. Occasionally timber comes from local tree surgeons where there would have been no other option other than to have felled the trees.

Hardwood Mirrors
Please have a look through my work, For the more basic mirrors, timber is easier to source and although there are many stages, the construction is quite straight forward. For the more intricate mirrors with wild grain patterns it is very much more of an organic process, timber selection takes time and there is often a significant amount of thought involved in deciding the best way to present the grain and striking features.

Picture frames.
Most frames are built to order. Specific sizes are attainable when using the more straight grained timber, however when the more intricate grains are used its often the grain that determines the final size. I have a gift concept called 'Cut From The Same Tree' where I offer a set of 2 or 3 frames from the same piece of timber. The idea is open to interpretation. There are many situations where this could be a meaningful gesture.
